BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has recognized an educational division office and a local government unit in this province for their efforts to attain and promote excellent services and performances.
Samal town was included in the Top 8 on government efficiency under the Class 3 and 4 municipalities' competitiveness index.
Mayor Aida Macalinao received the award for Samal during the Central Luzon Regional Competitiveness Summit on Thursday.
Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia, on the other hand, received the award for the Schools Division Office (SDO) from DTI Competitiveness Bureau Director Lilian Salonga during a short program at the Bataan Tourism Park here last Monday.
SDO Balanga City was given the 2021 Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management for Level 1 of the Philippine Quality Award “for its dedication to having an efficient program and technique to render quality education.”
The division office grabbed the highest level of national recognition.
“Malugod kong binabati ang Lungsod ng Balanga at ang DepEd (Department of Education)-SDO Balanga City ganoon din ang bayan ng Samal sa parangal na kanilang nakamit (I gladly congratulate Balanga City and Dep-Ed SDO Balanga City and the town of Samal for the awards they received)” Governor Albert Garcia and Vice Governor Cris Garcia said in a social media post.
